These are examples of the advertising cards, about 15" x 22", that were hung from clips on the bulkhead between the two compartments. They usually advertised specific events such as this, so they weren't installed for very long. We're hoping to make some reproductions, since these originals are too likely to get damaged in regular service at the Museum.

They sure add a great touch of period color to the cars

ReplyDeleteAs you know, I have about 5-6 more of these, although mine aren't as colorful. I'm more than happy to get together sometime if someone knowledgeable can take photos or scans so they can be repro'd as well

I remember seeing the Ringling Bros. Circus at the International Amphitheater in the 1970s. I enjoyed the experience, though now I can see how that was a place in a time warp.
