Postcard from Connecticut
All four of us (Frank and Randy Hicks, Norm Krentel and Jeff Brady) arrived in Hartford at lunchtime and headed over to Warehouse Point (Connecticut Trolley Museum), where we met up with Chris Chestnut and his gang and got to work on the 303. We unloaded the Pullman truck formerly under the 36 with the help of driver Jim Lillie and his assistant and packed the motor armature bearings in the truck as well. A big "thank you" to Jim, Chris and the gang from CTM, and Jeff Hakner, an IRM volunteer from Branford who drove up to help out. More to come later!
Please say something for my dear friend
ReplyDeleteRoger Steele that died there falling off the roof of a car (some confusing information as to which car, perhaps you can get a definitive answer as to which car). Miss him mutchly and he was a great coworker at the AAR and perhaps the best rail steel expert there ever was!
Roger Steele fell while working on the roof of the 451 (Illinois Terminal PCC) some years ago.
