Smell the Fresh Paint

Today was a great day for painting, so it was possible to make good progress on the 319. Here are some views of the main compartment after sanding, filling, and painting with white primer.

This includes some parts of the ceiling. The "Empire" ceiling has a lot of different parts. In some areas the old paint is still in good condition, in others it's not, for reasons I can't explain.

One of the less pleasant parts of this process was cleaning off 60 year's worth of dirt and grime from the roof of the "Vistadome" washroom. But now you can see through the windows once again. It may not be obvious, but I'm standing on a ladder and shooting down into the toilet compartment.

There were lots of other things going on, and we seemed to have a pretty good crowd for this late in the season, judging by the number of people who wandered all the way back to Barn 8. And Jerry was nice enough to switch out several cars to enable some photography.....
