Today it was time to put the four cars back together again and check everything out one last time. I'd like to think that this picture could almost have been taken at Wheaton, as there's very little in the background.
The train was run a few hundred feet back and forth on the connector track, to get a feel for how it operates. It's been more than 30 years since I had an opportunity to run a four-car CA&E train. It was then put back in the barn. Lubrication was checked again, etc.
This picture at Central Ave., on the other hand, has some anomalous items in the background: North Shore cars, New York redbirds, and an Army Diesel. But that's the sort of variety you'll see at the Trolley Pageant tomorrow!
All that CA&E looked great today! Congratulations on your success after a lot of hard work.
