In memoriam: Roger Smessaert

We've gotten word that Roger Smessaert, one of the museum's longtime stalwart volunteers, has passed away. Roger was active for many years in the Diesel Department and the DC Line Department. He was always known as a nice guy and a very hard worker. He was also one of the three men who operated IT 415 on the very first day of operation at IRM back on July 17, 1966. And he was able to make it out for the 50th anniversary of that event last year, when he again got to operate the 415 to reenact the first run. Roger will be missed by everyone at IRM who knew him.
