We don't want to keep beating the same drum every day, but we have an important opportunity to acquire another CA&E car that we don't want to miss.
Read all about it here.
At last report, the fund had about $5,000 donated so far. That's a good start, but we need a lot more, and we need it soon. We need to move the car before winter sets in for several reasons. Please give generously!
I was surprised to see that this tremendous opportunity has not been meet with more support. I was expecting that the fund appeal would have been over subscribed by now. I will do what I can. I hope others can jump on board and help bring this car back home to Chicago. David Johnston
ReplyDeleteI agree with David. Only $5,000 so far out of the $25,000 needed is a bummer. But I'll continue to spread the word and try to get people to donate!
ReplyDeleteYes, I too am am disappointed at the monetary response to this opportunity. If you’re reading this and haven’t made a contribution yet shame on you! Don’t assume some benevolent benefactor will write a check at the 11th hour. It just might not happen. If IRM acquires 453 we will own 3 of the remaining 4 cars of the final order of 10 interurbans ever made for the US market. That is a significant portion of manufacturing history.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside is their any chance of seeing an old fashioned fundraising “thermometer “ so we can view the $$$ progress?
