Our intrepid cub reporter Nick Espevik has sent us an update of work done during the week on the CLRV truck re-gauging project:
Wednesday night Greg and I spent a few hours starting to work on one of the spare CLRV trucks. The first step was to remove the mud flaps that were over the wheels. We also took the opportunity to straighten some of the mounting brackets that had gotten bent at some point before the trucks' arrival. We started loosening some other hardware as well. The next steps are shaping up to be: focus on dropping the track brakes, brace the motor, and then move on to some of the equalizing components.

Are the motors on the spare trucks known or expected to be in good shape?

Charlie- They were good when they came off a running car in Toronto. They look to be in good shape. We haven't taken a megger to them yet- you need to work from underneath- but all indications are that they will be just fine.
