Sunday was another great day for operations at IRM, especially on the Sunset Lines. The 1630 coach train, the Diesel caboose train, and the Zephyr were all operating, as well as an assortment of electric cars: CA&E 409-431 and 309-319, a three-car North Shore train, and several streetcars. There was a good crowd of visitors all day and into the night, with the last train departing at 9PM. I was too busy to get many pictures. But as always happens on special days like this, there were lots of photographers all over the property and out at Seemann Rd., so I'm sure there will be loads of great images showing up in various places. Feel free to send some in to us.
Frank, Fred Zimmerman, and I were the crew on the wood car train. We took turns operating, and Fred got qualified on the wood cars.
A great time was had by all! And of course the festivities will continue on Monday.

I took no photos at all until after the train was put away, and by that time there wasn't much left to photograph. But I did run into Doodlebug Bob in the car shop, and he was able to show off the jig he's been working on for some months:
