The End Is In Sight

At least the west end of the 460 is now in sight, since the excess canvas at this end has been trimmed off.

Meanwhile, the end is in sight for the east half of Barn 4, our oldest storage barn.  It will be rebuilt and expanded.  When I started working on the 309 back in 1975, it was stored at the east end of 43, where the PCC is now.  In front of it was the 101, which was getting its roof replaced in what served then as a roof booth, where the 65 is now.  The other two tracks mostly held ERHS cars that had recently arrived, such as the 1374, 2843, 2846, and 3142.  The west half of the barn was mostly operating cars such as 144 and 972.  The floor of the barn was entirely gravel.

But enough of that.  After some more work, the roof looks like this.  It still needs more ironing.

And then I did more tacking at the east end.  

Tim continues on the 1808, of course.  He is rebuilding the four corners, among other things.

And much of the interior floor is being removed by Mike and will be replaced with new wood.
