Gregg Wolfersheim sends us another update on the IT line car. Right now it's too cold in the barns to do very much, but our heated shop facilities provide the workspace.
A little update on the line car restoration: The #1
motorman's window was in bad shape.
The late Bob Bruneau had milled some window stock years ago.
I mortised and tenoned enough to make three complete windows. Here is the
motorman's front sash, with the side windows in the background.
Here are the three windows after being assembled and
clamped. Final sizing is next, followed by painting.
Two of the original side windows were restorable. This is right after cleaning them up and painting.
