We regret to report the death of Jim Windmeier, a long-time member of the Museum. From Marcus Ruef:
I just heard from Jim's son Tom that Jim passed away on Friday at the memory care facility in Geneva where he had been living for some time. Arrangements are forthcoming and will be shared as soon as they are known, but what we do know is that there will be a memorial service for him on April 29th somewhere in Geneva.
Jim was a frequent operator and conductor, and worked on various projects as needed. He was well liked by everyone who knew him. He will certainly be missed.
In earlier days, here is Jim with one of the many step stools he and his son made for the Museum. They're still in constant use.
