Tuesday Report

Sorry for the delay, but here are some pictures from Tuesday.  I worked on replacing the latches that hold up the folding signs on the 308.  The originals disappeared when the folding signs were removed from the car during its last years of service, but we had one good original from the 309.  And this was used as a pattern to make new ones via 3-D printing, as seen here.

Up until now, we had been using a couple of amateurish substitutes.

Ah, much better.

Meanwhile, Phil was doing some more painting on the 306.

And in urban development news, Main Street is being extended west to provide access to the North Western building.  In order to do that, first we need drainage and sewer installation, and the street trackage needs to be laid.  Here we see the new curb in place, where the street bends southward:

This is where the White Castle will be, as I understand it.

There were a couple of guys working inside the building, but I didn't disturb them.  Finally, looking southwest where Main Street will extend towards Olson Rd.

Next, let's visit the Electroliner.  Work continues on the interior.

And Ed was setting up various displays.  For Showcase Weekend the Liner will be open for visitors in the barn, and there's lots to see.

Looking up at the ceiling in the dining car, where the air conditioning apparatus is located.  We have an air conditioning expert who will be looking at this for us.

Finally, some people are just gluttons for punishment.  Bob Olson sends a couple of pictures of our old friend Dave Conrad after steam-cleaning the Ingersoll-Rand locomotive on Wednesday.

Having a wonderful time, wish you were here!
