Schmidt - Des Moines and Central Iowa

From the Schmidt Photo Collection, the Des Moines and Central Iowa.

Electric service ended in August 1955, although Diesel freight service continued, and most of these pictures were taken in March 1956.  It's unfortunate that nothing from this line survived.  For instance, one could have had a complete (though heavily rebuilt) LSE car.
