Line Car Progress

Gregg Wolfersheim sends us another update on the steady progress he's making on rebuilding our IT line car 1702:

The IT line car is getting work done on the #1 end presently. The old siding was removed and a part of the base was replaced. It shows up as the white primer strip in this photo.

Next, the crossbracing was attached.

A view of the end of the car. Some epoxy work is needed, mainly in the corner post.

A closer view of the area needing epoxy on the corner post. The marker bracket was located here. Double holes indicated it probably became loose at some point and was moved an inch, with new holes. These eight holes soon tried to become one giant hole of rotten wood.

Sunday, the new siding was applied, along with the grab irons. After some more epoxy work, primer and paint will follow. Also, the trolley retriever bracket and trim will be added.
