We recently received a query from a collector who had acquired these metal signs, and wanted to know more about them:
They're about 30" x 4". I told him I'm pretty sure these are route signs for display on the front end of interurban cars on the Illinois Valley line. But I don't know how far back in time these might date. Does anyone know of pictures of a car with signs like this on it?

CORRECTIONS and ADDITIONS: Sorry, I misunderstood a few things. There's one sign, painted on both sides, and made of wood. It's about 30" long and 4" high. Hope that helps.
