We'll start with John Sheldon working on the 306. Here he's cleaning up the side of the car for eventual repainting.
At the other end, which had been badly rusted out, the repairs look as good as new.
I did more work on the 453, starting with the roof:
It took a while, but eventually all of the screws holding the center plate in the ceiling were drilled out.
The plate, however, is still attached somehow over the pull switch for the buzzer.
So that's going to require some more work.
I ran into an old friend, Dave Conrad, who is working as a contractor on repairing the IR box cab Diesel.
And here he is starting to weld the new plates into place.
Nearby, we see that Vic Humphreys and his friends have been making progress on the Pennsy bobber:
Finally, I ran into Bob Olson, Mike Alterio, and their new truck. Bob purchased it from Amtrak and donated it to the Museum. It will be very useful for maintaining both the overhead and signal systems.
And here Dave Diamond is using it to evaluate the sand tower for repainting.
