Al Reinschmidt was out at IRM on Wednesday, and sent in these photos of the work he did on metal parts for car 36 as part of the repainting project. (I wasn't able to be there due to some family commitments.) It's great to have people helping with the many tasks that need be accomplished.
Before: From left to right, we have a folding step (so the crew can climb onto the roof when necessary), a bracket for the storm windows, and a flag/marker light bracket. All have several layers of encrusted paint. There were a total of ten parts to be done.
First, we wire-wheel most of the paint off, so it doesn't clog up the sandblaster. Then the metal is sand-blasted, and looks like this:
Then the parts are ready for primer. Thanks, Al!
