Big News for Small Trains

Frank writes...

Many thanks to Jeron Glander, who sends along some photos with exciting news: construction has begun on the Model Railroad Building! Concrete forms are being put in place so that the foundation can be poured. As you can probably tell, this will be a fairly large building, at least compared with the Schroeder Store. I think it's some 90' square give or take and when done will include the Pullman Library and archives space along with the model railroad exhibits. Stay tuned for more updates!

Hi Frank,

If I remember correctly isn't the Milwaukee Road Historical Society also a part of this building or are they getting a separate building?

Frank,
Will the present Pullman Library building remain in downtown Union? Or will this new construction take its place?

Richard, it has indeed been the plan for the Milwaukee Road Historical Association to occupy a portion of this building. What I'm told is that they haven't finalized arrangements so that's still a bit up-in-the-air. But it's still the plan.

And Ted, I believe that the plan is indeed to move the Pullman Library from downtown Union to this new building and, eventually, the building in Union would presumably be sold.
