Happy New Year 2011!
We went for a walk today, and passed by the Batavia Historical Society. There's a wooden waycar from the CB&Q there, and the original CB&Q depot from the old main line to West Chicago, which was moved across the river to this location.
They both appear to be very well maintained. The city has a core group of volunteers who have done many projects in the downtown area along the river, and also maintain the historical society's displays, such as these.
In other news, you might have heard that our newly-acquired dome car, the Silver Pony, is now on its way from Arizona to IRM. If anyone is able to take pictures of it in transit and would like to send them to us, we'll be glad to post them here. It's currently scheduled to arrive at Union next Friday, I believe.

Silver Pony was on the last westbound California Zephyr, I believe.
