Schmidt - Miscellany

From the Schmidt Photo Collection, we also have a number of large prints of miscellaneous subjects.   Many of these have no identification, although they are evidently not taken by Mr. Schmidt.   Some he bought from the Burlington or other sources, which I won't bother to include, but some of the others may be of interest.

First, some pictures of the pre-electrification IC suburban service.

The 1411 is presumably of the same series as our 201, which was numbered 1401 during its earlier life.

 And next, some traction photos.

This car was built in 1900 by Brownell as a single-truck streetcar for Kansas City, and converted into a rail grinder in 1932.  It's still at Worthington, as far as we know.

 How about a railroad car ferry?

Vessel holds 14 cars

(According to Google Maps, Trotters Pt. is no longer on the main channel of the Mississippi, which is always changing.  In any case, this railroad ferry service is long gone.)
