It's time for another brief report on a few of the activities on Wednesday. Of course, we're leaving a lot out. I can't be everywhere.
The first task was to get the newly repainted door installed in the 460. It's heavy, but with help from Fritz and Paul we were able to get it into place.
And from the inside:
Most of the rest of the time Pete and Fritz were working on North Shore doors. Here Pete is sanding down part of an electrical cabinet door.
Some parts of the 451 were still in primer, so I went over to Barn 6 to take care of that. Before:

(At the #2 end, I believe the headlight bracket was painted red in error. Should be silver.)
Later, I went over to the 453 to get the letterboard tracings, which we'll need to letter the 451. This will be an interesting project, so stay tuned.

I was recently re-watching one of Mark 1 Videos interurban programs. I have a few of these on VHS, and I have some how ended up with several copies of their program on Iowa interurbans. During the Southern Iowa Railroad segment in one of the programs, they showed a fantrip being run with Waterloo, Cedar Falls & Northern car 100 and Southern Iowa combine 9. They briefly show some still photos of the SI shops(?) at Centerville, IA, and we see that a North Shore "Pullman" and a CA&E car are both present in Centerville. We never get a clear view of the number on the North Shore car, but the CA&E car is #329. Any idea what these might have been doing in Iowa?

There was indeed a North Shore car and a CA&E car out in Centerville at one time. The North Shore car is 727 (A Cincinnati-built car, not a Pullman), and the CA&E one was 320. 727 at the time would of been owned by the Iowa Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, and the 320 by the Iowa Railway Historical Society. Both cars are still in Iowa today; 727 at the Iowa Traction in Clear Lake, and the 320 at the Midwest Old Threshers in Mount Pleasant.

I don't why or where I picked this habit up, but I kept nicknaming the red and green cars "Pullmans", despite them not being from Pullman.
