Bridge Over the Embarras

Slightly off-topic, but...

On a recent trip to central Illinois to visit in-laws, I finally got a chance to take some pictures of a very historic concrete road bridge south of Charleston, over the Embarras River.

This bridge was built in 1907, a year before the Model T was introduced, and is still in use today.  I believe it was originally the main route heading south from Charleston, but is now only a side road.  

The facts are set in concrete, as they say:

The area is very wooded, so it's difficult to get a good picture from the banks.

The reason I bring this up is because if we ever manage to extend the tracks at South Jct. across Boot Creek, I should think we'll also need a road bridge for vehicles.  And I would hope it might look something like this.

Incidentally, the name of the river is actually pronounced "Embrow".  If you try to say it the way it's spelled, the locals will laugh at you.  You can't make this stuff up.
