The 1982 Auction

I found the flyer.  It's one folded sheet, 17" x 22".  You probably won't see anything quite like this again.

And I should point out that Public Service #7, our first steam locomotive, was not in fact sold and has been cosmetically restored.  On the other hand, the Red Arrow center-entrance car 68 was scrapped many years ago.  And I always liked the note that IRM "remains a viable organization" and wasn't actually going out of business.

I'm actually kind of surprised more locomotives and rolling stock weren't added to this auction listing.

I recall two auctions by IRM in the early 1980s (Maybe 1979) Or it could have been later. One had a booklet that described the ex Milwaukee gas buses, Sorry I wish I could confirm better. I know IRM sold a bunch of interesting equipment, including a Dispensa's cab over semi tractor and a 1940s Chevy flatbed circa 1986. There was a detail of an old snow plow truck that later became the truck that broke into a distillery or brewery in the movie Untouchables (another remote IRM reference this movie).
