Doodlebug Progress

More pictures from Gregg Wolfersheim of his work on the doodlebug:

Following up on my last report: The area above the vestibule is still original to the car. Some pieces have some problems as can be seen here. One of the roof boards was pretty well gone, so a replacement was inserted.

I've been slowly removing paint in various places. This is the front. Needle chipping removes most of it.

I follow with a wire cup.

Then some primer.

Above the motorman's position, the roof is flat. This is copper sheet that is painted. The tack molding was rotted out, so a new piece was inserted and primed white. That is the horn at the right side, but the bell would sit right behind it. Unfortunately, we don't have one to mount there.

Is M-35 going to stay pullman green or is it going to be Shield Yellow? because the pictures would suggest it's the latter.

Yes, it's going to be yellow. According to Gregg, when it was last shopped in 1951, the power truck and the seats were changed out, so that's the only era we can accurately restore it to. Therefore yellow.
