Miscellaneous Stops in New England

In Lincoln, N.H. the Flying Yankee is still sitting on blocks, out behind the shops of the Hobo Railroad.  It is now out from under the cocoon that used to cover it.  When we were there, there was no one around and it's not open to the public, so these were the best pictures I could get.  





The trainset itself is said to belong to the State of New Hampshire, and it has been partly restored, but beyond that its status is still in question.  

In Shelburne Falls we stopped briefly at the trolley museum, although there was no one there.  We visited there about five years ago.  Since then, they've acquired two Boston PCC's, one to be scrapped for parts and one for cosmetic restoration.

More importantly, they have a nice new two-track car barn to provide better storage for the operating fleet.




Bellows Falls, Vt. is probably best known to most of us as the one-time home of Nelson Blount's Steamtown.  But we happened to be passing through, and found this classic Worcester lunch car still in business, the Miss Bellows Falls:
