The "Hicks Locomotive and Car Works" banner at the top is taken from original artwork of the company, which was in business from 1897 to 1911. The picture behind it shows the four restored CA&E wood cars at the Museum, starting with #309, which was built by the Hicks Locomotive and Car Works in 1907.

Our Current Projects
CA&E 36, 308, 309, and 319
For 2024, the 36, 309, and 319 should be available for revenue service. The 308 has a bad motor, but work to make it operational again is underway.
Shaker Heights 18
The 18 is operational; repairs and repainting are now underway.

This car is being repainted.

The current copy of the American Airlines seatback magazine The American Way has a story about the Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE). One of the examples of a regional word they use is the Devil Strip, or the space between the tracks. Don't get caught in the Devil Strip!
