The weather was pretty nice for this time of year today, so a lot got done. We'll look at a couple of roofs, starting with the 453. I finished painting the entire car, apart from two small sections of tack molding. First, part of the north side over the tack molding:
Then I started rolling the center part. It looks pretty nice, if I may say so myself.
The patch at the southwest corner was sanded down and painted by brush.
And two sections of tack molding at the corners needed epoxy.
Next, I'll want to roll some sort of finish paint over the primer. Then we should be ready for canvas.
Tim has assembled the parts for his ticket office. It's quite impressive.
Meanwhile, contractors replaced the roof tiles on Spaulding Tower. Unfortunately, they were finished and had started picking up by the time I got there. But it looks much better, as a landmark should.
Bill Wulfert was working on controller covers and other parts for the 1754.
They say you can never have too many different projects in the Lean-3. So I brought over the trolley base from the 453 for the experts to check out. It appears to be in pretty good condition, but unfortunately it's the only one we got with the car. The other, they said, was too far gone for some reason. So we'll have to find another of this type. Meanwhile, the guys have been working on the poles, and that's greatly appreciated.
Finally, while we're up here, let's look at the roof of the 415.
