On Saturday, Richard Schauer sent along this exciting update of progress on our CTA trolley bus, 9631:
The shop tells me the final push has again begun. They think they've found a source of rivets that are close, although not an exact match; they hadn't arrived by the time I was there. The back passenger doors have been sanded down to bare wood. Some inaccurately drilled holes on the back compartment doors are being fixed.
The plan is for remaining detail work to finish up this week, and a good primer coat to go on this weekend. If all is well, it has a date with the paint booth in the middle of next week.
