Admist all of the mail in the Hicks Car Works inbox, including spam, junk e-mail, and compalints (especially about two of our recent posts), arrived this little gem. Our friend Zach Ehlers recently completed a drawing of CA&E 431. The scene is at the platform of the East Union depot. Thanks Zach!

Are you getting the originals framed? They should hang up somewhere, or do an art show when you get enough. Maybe an Art show to raise money for the CA&E cars.
Zach retains the originals. He only sends me high quality scans.
I will say that recent talks have been going on with Ray Bellock about having them displayed in the Art Train. I had considered at one time asking if the originals could be reproduced and sold as a means of raising money for the CA&E cars. Is that in anyway possible?
Finally, I will say that 409 and 431 will not be the only cars I will do. I have plans to recreate the whole IRM CA&E fleet on paper, plus perhaps a few other traction subjects, such as a few of the IT or CNS&M cars, and maybe even some of the CTA L cars and streetcars. I will say I have had a specific request for the 749.
So much art...so little time.
Thanks a Bunch
Zach
The kid kicks ass. I think the museum might have uncovered something here with this.
