The 321 westbound at the old DesPlaines station, in the blue paint scheme, passing a Met train.
The 431, also in blue, is westbound at the Route 83 bridge; the matching Great Western bridge is visible to the left.
The 451 at Wheaton, perhaps taken just after delivery. The car will be restored to this original version of the paint scheme with Futura lettering.
Soon after delivery in October 1945, the 451 and 453 were used for an introductory CERA fantrip on December 16. And of course, there are lots of pictures of that historic day.
South Shore car 8 is at the head of a six-car train.... but wait, where's the wire? This is at the Michigan Central interchange, and the cars will be part of a 15-car special for IC employees on July 15, 1939. Those were the days. (GK)
The 19 at Michigan City.
The 28 at Gary, July 12, 1946. Photo by T. H. Desnoyers.
The 34 at Michigan City on July 12, 1971. That's Bill Janssen in the cab, and Art thinks he was the CMO by that time. Photo by Art Peterson.
