It was raining non-stop this morning, so the CA&E steel cars were used instead of the wooden ones. It takes constant effort to keep all of the various cars operational to protect the schedules, and our shop guys deserve a lot of credit for all the work they put in, often at odd hours.
And our crew: motorman Bob Opal and myself as conductor.
Besides the regular trains, the G scale people had their usual setup, which continued to run even in the rain. So that gives something else for people to watch while they're waiting for the next scheduled departure.
We had a group of five members from WRM at Rio Vista visiting, and they all got to operate the train as guest motormen. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the group; maybe tomorrow. Here's one of the younger ones; they all had a good time.
Well, I was too busy to get many pictures today. I'm sure Chuck Amstein will fill in all the blanks.
We should point out that the big UP rotary has been moved from its usual location. Efforts are afoot to get this repainted. That will be another big attraction, like the turbine.
The weather for this weekend isn't predicted to be the best, but you should certainly make every effort to come on out and bring a friend or three.
