Schmidt - Capital Transit

From the Schmidt Photo Collection, Capital Transit (later known as D. C. Transit)

Of particular interest are the photos showing the aftermath of a bad snowstorm and its effects on the conduit system.  Men are at work cleaning out the snow and ice from the conduit.  No cars have been able to run for 30 hours due to the storm, and the first car or two have to be pushed or pulled by trucks along the street.
