The Wolfersheim Report

This week Gregg has several different projects to report on!

ITC 1702 got a new door post installed on the #1 end of the car. The old one was pretty rotten and had been removed a few months ago. The last two weeks I created a new one, which is now installed. A little bit more painting will have it done.

The 'big hook' got some paint applied to the roof on Saturday. Paul Krot did the honors. The white primer on the sides didn't turn out well from a month ago. It will need to be sanded down and reapplied. This may not happen this year if the weather gets too cold. Hopefully, next year we'll see yellow and some lettering. Bolster work however, continues with the intention of putting the crane back on the new trucks.

The electric car shop guys brought the sick air compressor from CA&E 36 into the shop Saturday. The second shift tore into it and found a battered crankshaft bearing. The compressor side looks pretty good, so the plan is to just fix the bearings. As of now, the cause is still unknown.
