Many thanks to Richard Schauer for passing along this week's update on our CTA trolley bus, the 9631, which is at a body shop in Elgin.
Another small update. The shop is still busy, but the body guy assigned to our project had some time to finish up the curb side and start in on the back end. My picture of the finished curb side didn't turn out well, so I'll get it again next week. But in the first picture, work is deep into the back doors. This is one place where it was determined that the existing metal was in such poor condition, it would be better to make a new sheet. The second picture shows the new sheet is cut out and ready to install.
I asked about the paint match sample they thought might be ready for this week, and was told the paint guy was out sick all week (nothing serious, but they don't take chances), so no paint yet.
