From the Schmidt Photo Collection, the Niagara St. Catherines and Toronto
This was one of the last interurban lines to operate in Canada. The main line from St. Catherines to Niagara Falls was abandoned on Sept. 14, 1947, a few weeks after some of these pictures were taken, but the Thorold to Port Colborne line remained in service until 1959. Of particular interest is the picture of new street trackage being laid in 1953.
