Our fearless freelance photographer, Joel Ahrendt, sent along this photo taken tonight of the 1754 along with an admonition to join us for the Vintage Transport Extravaganza next weekend. It's always a fascinating event, what with all the vintage vehicles, and of course we'll have quite a variety of railway equipment in service too.

This car is great and I am glad to have scrapped out parts from Howard to make it happen. Just curious though, is it sitting on mis-matched trucks? O. Anderson

Olin, the 1279 used as the Howard St. Wash Rack car was a non-control trailer, which was built by American Car & Foundry. Parts from this car were used on the 1268, and some on the latest project, the 1808. The 1754 was built by Jewett, and we had no spare body parts for this car. Anything that was missing, and many parts were, so we created new ones. This included sliding doors, ceiling panels and light chandeliers. Also some seat cushions and frames were built, in addition to new windows. The 4000 truck is ready for the Westinghouse 567 motors to installed.
