The Frisco Decapod should be operating again at IRM this summer, after a lapse of several years, so let's all try to spread the word. The Steam Dept. has published a tentative schedule of when the 1630 is planned to operate. This is not a guarantee that the locomotive will run on these days, of course; if issues arise, the schedule will have to be changed. People planning to drive long distances to see steam should call IRM at 815-923-4391 to check for last-minute changes.

Nigel published a blog post today that indicated that the 1630 will not be running this weekend. http://www2.irm.org/blogs/archives/1696-Steam-Department-Update-05-12-2014.html Clearly, the early summer running will be touch and go as the 1630 shakes off its slumber and works out the kinks.
