Tuesday Report

Tuesday was another busy day at the Museum, but as a result I didn't get many pictures.  I was working on the roof of the 460 again, and when the new paint arrives I should be ready to start pouring it on immediately.  I did some ironing at both ends, cleaned off the canvas with compressed air, worked on painting most of the exposed tack molding, and so on.  When there's something to see, you'll see it.

I also went over to Barn 8 to check on the 319 and 36.  Gregg was there working on the 1702 again, and it looks great.

The east end of the barn is closed off, but he has his workstation set up next to the 415.

Other people were hard at work.  Here we see Frank Kehoe removing seat frames, rotted wood, horsehair insulation, and so on from the 1808.  It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it.

That goes for needle-chipping, too.  A new volunteer, Jim, showed up and was put to work on the 306's trucks, among other things.

Hope to see him back soon!   Tim and Gerry were also working today.

Finally, the B&G guys were replacing concrete squares in the sidewalk by the office.

This is a typical part of the continuing maintenance of the property -- which is why it looks so nice.
