Art Peterson also sent us this picture of a Brill-GE gas electric car:
It's car 840 of the Occidental Railway of Cuba, photographed at Matanzas in Feb. 1955. Art would like to know the builder number and/or build date of this doodlebug, but has had no success yet. Can anyone help?

Searching the Keilty books, the only car that I can match to the photo is builder # 22601, built as a Brill demonstrator in 1928. The car is listed as being sold to the Cumberland & Pennsylvania as #101, then New York, Susquehanna & Western #3002 before going to Cuba.

Thanks, Art! For Art's sake.
There was a book on the Budd RDC that has an earlier image of this car at the Havana Central Station. The original purchaser was United Railways of Havana. The logo on the car as pictured shows it as "OCC" or Occidentales (Western Railways of Cuba); that dates the picture as definitely post 1954. Occidentales was a private-public sector joint venture that acquired United Railways about 1953-54. The car was purchased second hand. The original purchaser was the Susquehanna. It usually ran Havana - Union (Union de Reyes, a city about 70-80 miles Southeast of Havana. It was listed on the official roster of United Railways as number 840.
