On Friday my wife and I decided to go through the Terror on the Railroad, which has become an annual Halloween activity for us.
As good as it has been in the past, the Terror crew have made great improvements this year. Two new cars have been added to the stationary train, the Pullman car "Glen Alta" (now replaced in the historic collection by "Glen Springs," which is in much better shape) and our MN&S boxcar. You'll have to visit for yourself to see how one adds a boxcar lacking end doors to a walk-through display! The operating train (the "Screamliner") was also a real treat, with several changes from last year. There was a huge cast of creepy characters and the whole thing appeared to be running very smoothly. Kudos and thanks to all of the volunteers who make it work!
Be sure to tell your friends to visit - it's a frightfully good time! It will be running every Friday and Saturday through the end of October. For more information and photos (cameras aren't permitted, a rule I elected to obey!) visit www.terrorontherailroad.com.

Terrifically Terrifying

After looking at the pictures of the Glen Alta on the IRM website, it appears to be spooky enough without any additional decoration. My first fearful reaction is "Am I going to fall through the floor".
